Hi

Just a couple of quick questions about to buy the ProntoProNG (RU990).

I’ve been looking through this forum and downloaded the channel icons and I got thinking, “ok, I have my channel icons which I can assign to a single button but my question is, can you assign 2 commands to a single buttonso that the pronto selects the correct station eg channel 79 = BBC News24?

A minor thing this but on the images I’ve seen of the ProNG there are graphics on the hard keys. Are these painted on or are they under a laqured surface like the RC9800i? I have an older Pronto and these have since rubbed off and it looks a bit scruffy now

Any help would be great

You place all your IR codes (including digits 0 to 9) in a single device which is not normally viewed directly in your configuration.

Then you set up your main pages with the interface that you will use. Any buttons you have on these pages use Links to the IR Codes. For channel 79 set up a button with links:

Link to 7
Short delay
Link to 9

My sugestion, if you haven't already done so, is download ProntoProeditNG from this site and download Daniel Tonks excellent TSU7000 design and see how he has done the links to his TV channel buttons. I found looking at other people's CCF design's the best way to learn if your starting from scratch.

And you don't even have to have the remote to start with, you can start programming your own CCF before you have received your remote, I had my design nearly finished before I bought my remote.

Hope this helps, Adam.

Adam, it's PCF, not CCF.

Thanks guys.

I have the Marantz RC5000 at the moment and I don’t think you can link IR codes but if you can on the Pro then great.

You can do links to IR codes on the RC5000. See my old ccf:

Whoops, my old ccf is for the Marantz RC5200 (bigger screen than RC5000). But you can similarly do links (called 'alias') to IR codes on the 5000.
