I just entered the remote world with a TSU7500. I have been using Xara Extreme for creating graphics. When I use the text function I get all of these types of fonts like "Couier New CYR". Like I'm supposed to know what that looks like off the top of my head! Is there a good website with the names and examples of the fonts, so I have some idea of what they are without having to pick each one, type something, and then try to remember the ones I liked. Then I could print out a list and choose one at a glance. I did a bit of searching on my own, then I decided to ask the experts. Thanks for the help.

Just open Microsoft Word and you will see samples of each font when you select a font.

From what I can tell this is not a list of easily printable font samples. Thanks anyway.

Much, much better than MS Word for font viewing is a little utility program called "FontLister." There is a freeware version 2.0, but I recommend version 3.4.9 which costs a measly $5. Check it out at [Link: theill.com].

BTW, I strongly recommend this program for anyone, not just Pronto programmers. You can view any font in a sentence format in bold, italic or regular formats at any size, get ANSI equivalents, print font samples, add, delete and compare fonts, etc., etc. The comparison feature is very useful to Pronto programmers trying to decide what font to choose for a give application.

Suggestion for Daniel: How about a searchable section on Remote Central where links to relevant helpful information and software could be posted for ready reference? This post will soon be relegated to the obscurity bin.

If you have XP, simply navigate to the C:\Windows\Fonts folder and click on a font. Once you do this, you get a window showing you examples of the font.

If you need special characters, then you may be out of luck.

Also, to see all glyphs available, you can also use another program that comes with windows called charmap.exe.

Thanks a lot mburwen! I bought Font Lister based just on your post. Now that I've installed it, It seems to be just what I am looking for. I'll recommend it to my friends. Thanks again.
