TSU3000 in the UK

Hi

I recently ordered a Pronto RU950 plus docking station bundle from a UK-based Amazon seller. When it arrived, I found it was a US model TSU3000. I've read the FAQ and understand the differences are small, but there are a few things I'm not clear about:

The RF difference: presumably I'd need to buy a US RF extender for compatibility, but is the US frequency legal in the UK?

Firmware upgrades: would I need a US-specfic upgrade or do they issue a universal upgrade that is able to recognise the model it's being run against?

Warranty: would Philips UK cover the TSU3000 should it become defective within the warranty period, or would I have to pay?

The firmware database: from what I've read it's no big deal as most people use learned codes anyway, any other gotcha's?

TIA

1/ You would need a US RF Extender. Frequency is not legal in Europe.

2/ There is just the one firmware upgrade

3/ The warranty is an international warranty, but whether you actually get the local Philips to support it varies from country to country

4/ There is not a lot of difference and most don't use it.

950s usually cost a lot more than 3000s. Did you pay a premium price?

Thanks Peter, I paid an okay price for 950 kit, but a bit high for 3000 kit as available on Ebay. Of course, if I return I'll have to pay postage and insurance :(
