I want to initiate a special action (Browse Backward) and send an IR code with one button press. I tried creating a button with the desired IR code as a normal action and then linking that button to a second button that performs the Browse Backwards special action, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know if this can be done with a 7000 and PENG?

Thanks,
Dave

What you want to do can't be done. You also can't have one button link to another which is set to a special action. Well you can do it, but it won't work. The special action assigned to the target button will be ignored. You are not alone not that it will make you feel any better. The ability to include special actions in macros and action lists has been a long requested feature still yet to see the light of day. I would not hold your breath.

Lowpro, thanks for your quick reply. Too bad this can't be done as it opens up some powerful capabilities. I'll keep breathing & hope Philips continues to consider the needs of the professional custom integrators.

It certainly would open up some powerful capabilities. Would be a good start anyway. Guess I'll keep breathing too. Perhaps Philips will suprise us one of these days now that the current editors are running solid. Time for some new enhancements. Don't ya think. :-)

Just one of my many bad habits I guess. :-P I keep a tight check on the tone I use in forums. Understatement prevents me from even coming close to going off on a tirade. :-)

ti·rade - A long angry or violent speech, usually of a censorious or denunciatory nature.
