Easiest way is to just learn the codes.

As a kid in school, the teachers made a point of telling us that there were many "silent letters" in English.

"Universal database" has not only a silent letter, the "e" in database, but some invisible ones as well. Here they are, restored letters in parentheses:

(almost) Universal(ly ignored) database
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

... or check the files section of this site and see if some kind soul has already done work and published them for you!

Is there a way to look at what the hex code is from the UDB for a selected device?

I have a conflict with a SA 8300HD and my Hitachie TV and would like to see the codes.

Do learned SA and Hatachi signals have the same conflict?

Both SA and Hitachi are consistent enough across models, that I'd be surprised at any significant difference between well learned codes and those from the database.

If learned codes conflict, you can look at their Pronto Hex and try to guess why they conflict. I doubt that you'll see why because SA and Hitachi codes don't have enough similarity for a conflict to be reasonable.

But in most well documented cases are IR code conflict, the conflict wasn't reasonable (excluding of course cases where devices used the same codes). The wrong device
would receive a signal with very little similarity to any signal it should understand and would simply decode it as one of its own commands for no good reason.

Teach the code to a TS1000, upload to a computer, then open the code to edit. You will see the hex string.

This, however, requires a spare TS1000 sitting around.

Will the Learned IR codes from a Marantz RC3200 be the same as for a TSU7000? I would have thought the IR code would be universal but you never know!?!!
