Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of a ProntoNG SBC RU950 and I'm having problems with the hard buttons not responding after I've used the remote for a few seconds.

Once they've 'locked out' it is very difficult to get them working again. On a few occasions not even a firmware upgrade has helped. It affects all the hard buttons and lasts anywhere from a few seconds to several hours.
It seems to happen no matter which firmware I am using. The codes assigned to the hard buttons still work if I test them via my laptop.
The laptop is running win200 pro Service Pack 4.

Anyone have any ideas what might be up with this as I really dont want to have to return it.

If the remote has the latest firmware, it sounds very much like a hardware problem. You should consider returning and swapping for a new one. Your vendor should swap, no questions asked.

Just check there is nothing funny with your PCF. Try the default PCF and see if it also has this problem.

It does suffer the same problems but not quite as bad. I've had the touch screen lock up on me once now as well. I've noticed that the case isn't quite flush with a gap on the right hand side beneath the volume and channel buttons.

I have an RMA number now and will be returning it in the morning. A real shame as well as I was really looking forward to getting this set up in time for the weekend.

Sounds like the screen may not be clipped into its container properly or there's something that's causing the thing to think it has a button pressed when it doesn't. Unless you are an electronics person, I don't recommend that you user-service the thing, especially if you can return it.
