Using a IR software in a PSP that utilises Pronto hex code.

Looking for codes on a JVC RM-C342 remote.
Its a 27" tv.

Give a man fish, feed him for a day, teach him to catch it, feed him for life...

i also looked around on a way to get codes from a remote, Other than a universal learning device.. is there a way for a PC to learn codes from a remote ?

Hope i make sens, pretty new to this, but very interested.
So far im controlling my DVD, VCR, XBOX, PS2 with my PSP, all im missing is the TV, but cant find codes for it anywhere.

link to the software im using on PSP if any help.

When plain text is not available, you "SHOULD" check the files section. There are many files here.

Pick any of these CCFs and use ProntoEdit (available from Pronto, not ProntoNG files section) to examine/copy the Pronto Hex.

There are also discrete code entries for JVC TVs that may work for your model and can be found here.

I looked in a few places with data on JVC remotes and didn't find RM-C342. That isn't a surprise. You rarely find an exact model number match with a brand like JVC. They have too many different models.

Most JVC TV's use the same IR signals. So you usually don't need to worry about the model number. There were multiple JVC TV's listed in that library of codes you linked, so try one.

wow
thats alot of codes!
Ive been trough many of the controls in the ccf files linked to me.
I do see that some are TV remotes when i look at "DEVICES" in pronto edit, but none have the power button ?!

Im still trying and fiddlin around, in the meantime, if someone has the exact TV i have...

thanks

EDIT : Found it! "JVC AV-27BH5" pretty much for all JVC TVs.

Thank for all the help guys.

EDIT2 : Spoke too soon!
Had to get codes from different sources to compile the remote.
the one i gave before has basic stuff, but had to use these for channel up and down

I would think they all have the power button. Am I misunderstanding what you mean by "have"? Or can you give more details about which files you looked at.

Why? What was wrong with getting them from one source?

I wish you had been a little clearer. I think you mean you TESTED codes from multiple places and many of them didn't work (as opposed to you didn't find them).

All those codes are the same when used on the Pronto models for which they were posted. But some versions of Pronto firmware don't work correctly with the smallest Pronto hex representation of JVC codes, the Pronto Hex strings in which the third and fourth values are 0001 0011. Guessing at the things you didn't tell us, I think it means your remote also can't use the Pronto Hex with 0001 0011 in the third and fourth values.

Try these:

0000 006D 0012 0011 0141 00A0 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 017D 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 003C 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 0014 035E
