I ordered a 7000 and received it today. It was DOA. I checked the power supply, battery and all check out o.k. Unit will not power on, never did. No light when remote is on the charger. Everything is connected properly and battery is installed correctly. I am an expert in HT. My question is one, have I overlooked something and two, any advice when dealing with Philips in this scenario? I am going to ask that they over night me a replacement while I ship this one back. I do not mind Philips charging my card until they receiver the defective unit back.

If you go to Phiips you are likely to be given a refurbished unit. You should deal with who you bought itfrom first.

You said you checked, but when you placed the 7000 on the charger, did you insert it almost vertically, then pushed as you finally place it on the charger so that the two contacts lock in. It is easy to place it on the charger without locking in the contact. The two blue lights come on only when properly locked in.

Sorry for your predicament. The remotes are really nice remotes.

I don't belive that the Philips outlet accepts returns. You have to send the unit in for repair. Check the Ebay Ad where you purchased.

However, if you put this on a credit card, contact your CC company immediately. Get them to help intervene. Otherwise, you may have to wait a period of time to get another unit and... the 90 Day warranty started the day the unit was shipped.

Thanks for the replies. I purchased the unit from the Philips outlet. I did try laying the unit in the charger as described and it does lock in. Still, no lights.

I had the same problem when I purchased mine from Philips. I updated the firmware and it works fine now. I hope this helps...
