I am still having this problem.

I got a return call today. They looked into my 3 TSU3000's and said that the original purchase date was now out of warranty and they would not be able to do anything, without my paying a repair charge. I'm sorry (not) but I am done spending money on the TSU3000.

GREAT JOB PHILLLLLLLIPS! You win again. The previous post about a special

Completely, fed up AGAIN in NH

Cleaned contacts still have problem

Sent various emails no response's

This product is defective full stop, philips cannot be allowed by us the consumer to get away with rubbish products and non existent backup. Consumer action & the internet produced results regarding the apple nano ipod problems.

Lets hope this thread does the same.

A month after the warranty went out, the backlight on my TSU3000 died. Thinking about attempting the mod. If that falls through or I chicken out, a Harmony is in order. Perhaps the 680 or 688. The 880 is too much. Especially after spending an arm and a leg on the Pronto. I will never invest that much $$ into a remote again, especially a Philips product.

It'd sure be nice if they would make good on it, but time frame is over.

Best to all,
Steve

I did the contact fix that PeraV recommended and it works fin. I had to press very hard on each contact just short of breaking the glass and it took three or four times before it worked but it finally did. Unless it was coincidence!
Thanks PeraV for the suggestion

Looks like my 3000 just started acting up. It has been a bit more humid here lately. I'll try cleaning the contacts.

I have had my TSU3000 for about two years and last week it started losing touch screen alignment. I used the forum to seek answers about the issue. The info about taking the remote apart and cleaning the screen was right on the money. It worked absolutely great ! There was a rather large build up of movie watching debris (coke, crumbs, etc.) all around the edge of the screen. My theory is that this stuff accumulates over time and eventually acts like someone always pressing on the screen causing it to not work correctly. It is fixed and I thank all the members of the forum who posted their solutions to help all of the TSU3000 owners.

My 3000 has had recurring calibration loss on the touch screen. Now I'm not able to calibrate it at all! The process fails at the 3rd touch. Anyone have a fix?

Problem just happened tonight. I'm in the process of trying the contact fix, but now the calibration won't get past the upper right corner.

Solved, pin technique
I wouldn't have believed it but it worked.

I also had the calibration problem after upgrading the firmware, but the pin technique solved this.

Fixed by paying those buggers for a new touchscreen.

They installed the "upgrade" firmware, and now my configuration that worked 100% with the old firmware is all screwed up and the firmware updaters won't let me go back to the old firmware so I have two crappy remotes.

F you very much Philips.
