I had been unable to get my tsu3000 to transmit RF trying to get it to work with the Powermid Receiver I already have (so I wouldn't have to have the IR receiver in my Home Theater Room).

Every time I setup the tsu3000 for RF it would still send out IR. Well after seeing a post the other day that only learned codes would transmit RF I tried it out.

The learned codes stopped sending IR and actually did send the RF *** And the Powermid Receiver did receive it and send it out through the IR Blaster Cables hooked to it.

Therefore -

#1 Hopefully the upcoming Beta will let us use codes from the database as RF instead of only having learned codes.

#2 For those looking for a very cheap method to go RF pickup the Powermid Receiver unit.

I've tried this, and it seemed to work well with learned codes. However two things I found out;

1) It seems very slow: I have buttons set up that send out multiple codes for DSS channels (ie. Sci-fi send 2,4,4,OK) This works well for IR, but slow or incomplete for RF

2) I have the Powermid IR blaster attached to a Xantech IR reciever. The Xantech unit has a status light, and it seemed that the powermid would send alot of spurious IR signals constantly. The powermid also would dimly light up often.

I've been trying to get this to work with a similar IR>RF>IR product, but not had any luck so far. There are no settings on the RF receiver for ID or channel - are there on the Powermids?

What RF ID & Channel setting did you use to get RF from the remote received by the Powermid?

Cheers,

Jon.

Jon, it will not work with just any repeater. It just so happens that the Pronto and Powermids use the same circuitry and frequency

With the Powermid setting the channel/id etc. doesn't do anything. Supposedly if you set a channel/id it sends out a string that tells the Pronot repeaters which one you are addressing. The Powermid ignores this pre-string. So the answer is if the repeater is going to work it doesn't matter what you do with the channel/id.

The problem I kept having was that I would tell it to do the device RF but it wouldn't send out RF. I could tell it wasn't sending RF because it still worked the device directly with IR.

I had to learn the code I wanted to send RF and it would then send it correctly. Picking the codes from the Database always went IR no matter what. Haven't worked with it with the new firmware revision.

If you have the Pronto set for RF and you test it directly with the device and it's not sending IR - then if the repeater doesn't work its not going to.

I know I am resurrecting an old thread. I have been trouble with my RFX6000 and so I decided to purchase a Powermid RE549 Receiver. However, I can't seem to get it to work. It appears as if the Powermid receiver is receiving the RF from the Pronto (flashing red light on the Powermid receiver) but nothing happens (ie components are not turning on). When I tried using the Powermid Transmitter ST539 with a normal remote it does work. Is there something I need to do on the pronto to get it to work with the Powermid receiver.
