SONY E9000ES PREAMP AND NEW TSU3000

I am running all Sony stuff and the SONY E9000ES PREAMP with latest software/sound field upgrades.

Just read the “disclaimer” on IR codes not “converting” properly and was wondering about the following question: Was wondering which existing CCF would be the best to try to start from.

I see you are running "all Sony stuff" and am wondering if you could give a newbie any advise. I also own all Sony stuff and just got the Pronto NG. I was kind of apprehensive about getting into this because after searching for info about Sony it seemed like people were having trouble finding codes/programming. I have never worked with this kind of software so I guess I have a lot of learning to do.

Any IR codes that existed and worked for the earlier pronto's, will work for pronto NG. IR is IR, but you may need to reformat the hex codes that reside in a CCF to work with a PCF. I haven't had any trouble thus far with the formats, but you are not the first i have heard about.

PENG has trouble with dirty codes, which represent a fair bit of what's been learned in some files for Sony's "difficult" DSP modes.

I am a newbie myself so I am way down on the learning curve. However, if I have any "revelations" I will be more than happy to share them with you!

Is there anyone who has been having this problem?

I have programmed all codes successfully into the TSU3000 except for one. The "Standby" for the E9000-ES will not work. When I copy the correct hex code into the IR code, select "ok" and then go back in, the code has changed slightly and does not work. The remote won't learn the function either.

Please let me know if anyone has an answer.

Well, the thing is that I have big problems getting commands from an IR PC keyboard (Airboard SK-7100) to work with my TSU3000 - it worked flawlessly with my TSU-2000 (see separate thread). You mentioned that reformatting the hex code may help. Could you please elaborate on that a bit, so I understand what I need to do.

Interesting about the dirty codes. I'm having problems configuring my Sony VCR. It's the only device that's not learning properly. Plus, I had it working perfectly with my 2000. I cut and pasted the 2000 files, still no go. Cut and pasted the hex codes, no go. Went through the built-in codes to determine which code set worked. It works once, then stops working. Very bizarre.
