Hi All.

I hope somene can help me.
I desperately need the discrete power on / off codes for a Panasonic DVD Recorder.

I have found on this site in the discretes section, codes for Set 1 and Set 2, I am already using these, but I have 3 Panasonic machines, and I need the Set 3 codes.

Is there anyone who could help me modify one of the other codes for set 3 operation.

The original codes are posted below.

Set 1 On

I have managed to decode these codes to a certain extent, but to be honest it is over my head.

Thanks in advance.

Set 1 On

Using the JP1 version of IrTool.exe and my DecodeIr.dll that decodes as Panasonic:176.0:62

Set 1 Off

Panasonic:176.0:63

Set 2 On

Panasonic:176.16:62

and Set 2 Off

Panasonic:176.16:63

I have managed to decode these codes to a certain
extent, but to be honest it is over my head.

If you had also posted some ordinary learned command from "Set 3" I could be sure of my guess that Set 3 uses Panasonic:176.32
But I'm pretty confident of that guess, so here are the signals (from my MakeHex program):

Device Code: 176.32 Function: 62
0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0ACE

Device Code: 176.32 Function: 63

Hi Johnsfine.

Many thanks indeed for your help with this, I have just downloaded the IRTool and DecodeIR.dll files. I was trying to work it out for myself, but I could not work out how and what to change.

I will try the codes you have posted, and let you know.
I will also post a couple of learned set 3 codes.

Many Thanks
Pete

Johnsfine.

I have just plugged all of the codes into the IRTool, and can now see the differences you mention. I also think those codes you sent will be fine.

The MakeHex tool, is it available for download from the site ?

And also while we are on the subject, are there any listings of all the function numbers anywhere ?.
For example I now understand that code 62 is the discrete for on and 63 for off.
I would like to find out if there are any more.

Once again many thanks for your help.

Pete

The latest MakeHex is available at

The latest DecodeIr.dll is available at:

I assume you found the JP1 IrTool and an earlier DecodeIr somewhere in one of the JP1 file collections at
[Link: groups.yahoo.com]
or
[Link: hifi-remote.com]
(I forget exactly where)
If you found IrTool in RemoteCentral's file collection, that version is much inferior.

All the Panasonic command codes have been discussed and listed in various threads in the discrete forum here at RC.
