Recently I found some really cool X10 codes which I didn't know existed, they were all direct codes, i.e. Dim device 1, and Device 1 On, etc.

These all work really well, and are even repeatable, so on the dimming\brightening you just hold the button and it smoothly dims down (before I had to press the button for each iteration, usually about 10 times to get the level I wanted).

The only two codes that were missing were Dim\Bright All, does anyone have these as a repeatable code?

Thanks robo

I do not believe there is such a command. But I am interested in seeing your direct codes. I had a list but they just did not work up to par. Maybe your codes are cleaner, could you email me them.

Thanks

I've emailed you the PCF, the codes I used came from Ludovic Hauduc's PCF which can be found here

[Link: remotecentral.com]

I'm assuming that because the codes exist for all the seperate devices, they must exist for the Dim All, and Bright All

Hi Robo,

I dont know if there is a dim/bright all command, however you can simply send eg. 1, 2, 3, dim ... to dim modules 1,2 and 3 together.

I hope this helps,

Rob

Thanks robomonkey - those are pretty cool graphics for the tsu3000, I have not played with the codes yet or compared them to my direct codes. Won't be able to touch it until after the 15th (USA tax deadline)
&
Foober,
That was pretty cool, I had never done that. It adds a whole other layer to pronto lighting!

If you are looking for -one button press dim's-, try Yvan Luk's CCF, easily converted tp PCF, in the X10 files at:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

Most other config files I've reviewed require that you first press a unit code button, then a second button for the command, dim or bright.

I found Yvan's hex codes clean and those that I use work great. The UI graphics are basic, but I don't use them, just the code behind the buttons.

Thanks for all the help guys, unfortunately none of these do what i want to do :(

I wanted to assign 'dim all' and 'all off' codes to hardbuttons, so that where ever I was on the pronto I could always have near complete control of the lights, because if the lights are off the dim actually turns them on as well!!, but whenever I've tried select the codes i.e. 1, 2, 3 and then dim all in the same button, it only ever performs one send, not a repreating code of the dim so it never wrks properly.

I need an IR code that will dim two lights at once.

Thanks Robo

If you search old posts in the Pronto Classic forum you'll find out how those codes were created (by one very enterprising individual) - they were done by merging the individual "ID" and repeating "command" codes into a single hex code.

Since there is no such thing as "dim all", that code can't be created, and I don't think merging 16 IDs and dim into a single code will work.

Now that Philips has added IR duration, we could also use the capability of making the last IR code in a macro repeating as long as it's held.

Daniel, I don't see how the last IR code in a macro can repeat as long as it is held. All I can see in the new software is the ability to specify the minimum transmission time for each IR code. Have they also changed macro behaviour?

I said "we could also use", as in something it would be nice for them to add...

Sorry. I read it as "we could also make use of the new capability".

Hi RoboMonkey,

If you send eg: 1,2,3, dim_rpt as I suggested, and use the following repeatable dim/bright commands, you should achieve what you want. The limitation here of course is that you need to send the unit codes first, and only once.

I have the following codes assigned to the up/down cursor hard buttons, and I send the relevant unit codes in a macro on the button that jumps to my X10 control page. In that way I know that I can dim all lights by default when I jump to my X10 control page on the Pronto. I then provide a "browse backward" button on the X10 page to get back to where I was.

dim_rpt_command:
0000 0069 0000 0030 00A8 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 002E 0108 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 01CE 0097 00A8 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 002E 0108 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 01CE 0097 00A8 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 002E 0108 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 01CE 0097 00A8 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 002E 0108 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 0091 0099 0091 0099 002E 0108 01CE 0268

bright_rpt_command:

I will be posting my system pcf in a few days time (just doing some tidying up first!) so you can see what I have done, if that helps.

Do you think it would be possible to splice 3 codes together to dim units 1+2?
