Hi can anyone help me I am new to this. I have bought a tsu7000 and have been programing it so far with pro edit ng and had no trouble uploading files and ir codes but i went to turn it back on to my pc and it says that the remote control is not connected to the pc.
I am using a usb port and the device manager says that the phillips driver is installed (i am using xp pro)plus the computer picks it up and the remote lights up but no connected still is there any thing I can do?
I have the latest firmware but cant up load it to the Pronto Pro

This is a common problem and there are several posts on it if you do a search

Several different solutions have been found - reseting the Pronto works for some people, personally I found that deleting the remote from XP Control Panel System and then linking with the remote in the docking station solved it - and then only link with the remote docked; I think the problem occures when the remote powers down.

Open Control Panel and then the System Icon - finding that depends on how you have the view for the Control Panel set. If you cannot see System look for Performance and Maintenance and then System should be in there.

Double Click to open System and look at Hardware Tab and the Device Manager button and in the USB area there should be an Unrecognised Unit or something like that - delete it and Right Click then Scan for Hardware Changes which should then see the Pronto and reload the drivers - make sure the pronto is in the docking station when you do that.

That seems to do the trick,

Jeff

I have already checked the device manger to see if there was any ! marks. In the USB area. The driver only shows up when the pronto is connected is that the way it should be ? I have tried every thing I usually could figure out these things. I just got it and there going to give me a new one so I am going to go that way. Because write now the remote is completely dead it will not even light up. Thanks for your help.

Disconnect Pronto from PC, reset Pronto, reboot PC, reconnect Pronto. This usuallu works. Otherwise, reload the firmware in your Pronto.
