I find that if I touch the screen very gently, I sometimes get the backlight, but no icons. Also, I have a "Startup" button which issues several IR codes, then jumps to another page. If I tap the "Startup" button very gently, sometimes the jump occurs very quickly, but the IR codes are not sent. I am trying to determine if I have a defective unit, or if others have experienced this behavior.
If I press the screen with sufficient force, I have no problem.

i have noticed some similar issues, where the backlight i on and nothing is displayed, if i tap the screen it all comes up as normal. Not sure if a blanket brushed the screen lightly or not though, haven't done a test to track it done. Have also seen where if you tap just as the screen is going off it sometimes tkes the command and goes off, and then other times just goes off.

i've just chalked it up to a matter of timing, but it might be something more.
