Lowpro,

I'm having trouble opening your pcf, I just downloaded lp_09102004_1010_optimized.zip from the link you have in this forum, which I see was updated a few days ago, and did the TSU7000 to TSU3000 conversion perfectly, just like the demo you made. But in either case there isn't a pcf file to open, just an xml and the bitmap folder.

Any ideas?

I am not quite sure what you mean. It sounds like you must have did something wrong. I just downloaded my .pcf file from the link a few posts up, converted it over for the TSU3000, and opened the .pcf file in the TSU3000 editor. I had no problems.

Well I'm not sure what's wrong. for one everything so far have been .zip files and not .pcf, even what you just posted a few minutes ago, is a zip file to me. My PENG is up to date as far as I know, I just got it last saturday. I'm using winace and maybe the trouble lies there.

thanks

yeah that was it, I ditched winace and everything worked fine, the downloads even changed file extensions. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Re-tried the conversion on my own, just to see if I wasn't messing that up. worked like a charm! At least I know I can follow simple instructions, ha!

Thanks for your help, I'm gonna like it here!

I am still not sure what you mean about "everything so far have been .zip files and not .pcf, even what you just posted a few minutes ago, is a zip file to me." The file I posted is not a .zip file. It is a .pcf file saved in the editor.

I plan on integrating lighting control soon for my home theatre, so I updated my .pcf file to get a head start. In the process I ended up modding Daniel Tonks original interface a tiny bit. Turned out pretty nice.

The original design had a fixed button in the top right corner. What I've done is mirror the top right side of the interface, so that there is now a fixed button on each side. I am currently using the extra fixed button to access my lighting device, but I've created other buttons for either side if I want to change things up.

I also added a page to quickly access my gears power on/off buttons, and for all my non-anamorphic widescreen DVD discs, I changed the page jump at the end of their macros to instead jump to a page which gives instructions for how to compensate for the fact the film is not in anamorphic widescreen since I have a 4:3 projector. From this new page you can adjust the projector's aspect ratio to 4:3 and then jump to the transport controls for the proper DVD changer.

The original design had a fixed button in the

little house icon. :-P I "
target="_blank">mirrored
this, which adds
an additional fixed button on the top left side
as well. :-) I am currently using this to access
my device page, but I've created other buttons

is a button which then jumps you to the transport

Is it available for downlaod?

Thanks

Ok I haven' had as much time as I would like to work on this, but I am making very good progress and have a question.

Now that I have bitmap images of my DVD covers sized correctly (52 x 74) and entered into a gallery, I can not read the movie titles. I named each cover image with the movie title.

What is the best way to select the correct image?

Lowpro, your PCF has been a tremendous help. Thank you for your support.

Thanks

If you look at my .pcf file you will notice I do not label any of the DVD cover images. You have to identify them by the DVD cover image itself when using the remote. You only want to include a label for a button if you intend on that text being seen on the button itself. The DVD cover images will not accomodate this. You would not want them to.

I also do not use the gallery with the editor. I never have. It is slow and just makes more work for you. I'd recommend keeping all your DVD cover images for import into PPENG in a folder on your hard drive. You can then simply use the "Import Bitmap" option under the button properties / appearance tab. Doing things this way allows you to select the DVD cover image you want by its file name. Of course you can view the files to choose from by details, thumbnails, or whatever. It works much better this way. Trust me. :-) By the way, I am not sure how you are naming your DVD cover image files, but I do not name mine by DVD title. I name them by the collection ID DVD Profiler assigns them, which is also the changer slot I am going to place the DVD disc in. This is also the DVD slot loading macro number I need to link to that button in PPENG.

Hope you followed that. If you read through this thread again more carefully I explain all this in detail. Good luck with your .pcf file. Glad to hear you are making good progress.

Followed that, for sure the best solution if I hadn't started myself off on the wrong path. I tried to salvage some of my previous work. which inlcuded loading up my JukeBox with my DVD's and creating an Excel file with the slot number at the end of each movie title. This is what I am using to link to the correct Macro.

If I had to do it all over, I would definetly use your approach entirely. DVD Profiler is a great piece of software.

Your tip on selecting the correct image was exactly what I needed.

Thanks

Finally have all my movies added using the thumbnails as buttons and tied into a lobby page. Pretty much identical to Lowpro's.

Now, back to re-organizing the rest of my PCF. I stll have a lot of work left, but have made a lot of progress in the past week.

I have a million ideas and can't wait to finish.

I'm having the same problem that Bagheera was having with the PCF being converted to a ZIP file when downloading. I'm using Windows XP and don't have any add on zip applications installed, so I can't figure this out. I tried saving the file as type All Files and giving it a .pcf extension, but ProntoEdit will not recognize it.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I zipped the .pcf file up for you. To download hit up the link in my signature area below. Just unzip this file with XP and you will be good to go. Enjoy!

(Please take note that the interface graphics originate from Daniel Tonks TSU3000 PCF file. The only real change I made was in mirroring the top right side of the interface, so that there is now a fixed button on each side.)

This version includes my modified Sony DVD IR codes for use with the latest TSU7000 firmware. As a result, the Sony codes will work on a short button press without the need for that .1 second delay action prior to the learned IR code in the action list. My IR543 X10 device is included as well.

The file is a bit too large to download to the remote as is by the way, not that you would want to do that. It will load in the emulator if you want to take a look at it in tact. I have to hack the file down for now each time to get it to download to the remote. When the 32 meg firmware update comes out for the TSU7000 between now and the end of the year file size will not be an issue any longer for me. I will have a much larger file available for download at that time for whoever is interested.
