Just starting out with the 3000 & got a few basic Q's to begin with...
1) Can the "Firm 1" and "Firm 2" buttons be programmed? I think I found my answer already but, hoping im wrong.

2) Can the "Page +/-" hard buttons be programmed and/or disabled?

3)Any way of loading my TSU2000 Gallery into NGEdit? Other than one bitmap at a time?

thx for any answers :) meanwhile i'm off to do more reading to find the answers to these and i'm sure many future questions.

1. Not yet
2. Nope
3. Nope

Well seriously, Philips says the firm buttons will be in future firmware relase. The Page buttons are not currently programable. And 3 strikes :) No there is no way to import you gallery other than one at a time. I personally never use the gallery. PENG allows you to open 2 PCF's at the same time so just import your gallery to PENG and open it up as you work on your current config and drag and drop.

thx for the response Cooch.
I pretty much got the answers I expected(but, not what I wanted to hear). You said i can open 2 .pcf's at the same time tho, I must be missing something because i'm nit able to.

More questions
4)When adding "Insert New Panel", I get "The Given Dimensions Are Not Correct" message. Is there a formula for overall area of this panel?

5)Is there a "merge" feature like there was on the 2000?

4. Entire panel is 320h x 240w You will get that message if the bitmap placed in a panel will not fit on the screen in relation to the panel on the screen. That is sounds more confusing than it is. Think of it this way a 320x240 bitmap must be placed into a panel that is at 0x0 on the screen. Any other location and the bitmap will not fit on the screen in relation to the panel.

5. No merge that is handled by the ability to open 2 PCF's and cut and paste between them.

Do you get an error trying to open 2 pcfs? This is the first time I heard someone cannot do that. I couldn't live without that feature.

ok, so lemme see if i understand this, if i write 2 different system files using the same, say, Denon Rcv'r, I cant merge the Denons Discrete Codes into Each System File, I need to learn the codes into Both?

And, no, I cant open 2 .pcf's at the same time.

I can open up 2 .PCF files at the same time

Open one up

Click on File, Open Configuration, choose your 2nd file

Once it opens, use the minimize or (RESTORE DOWN) button in the upper right hand column to mini-size things...you should see both files open in seperate winows.....

Good luck

This is the way I do it anyway - there may be easier ways?

To open two PCF files at the same time open the first file like you normally do. When this file is open go to the top menu and select "File" and then "Open Configuration" and locate the other PCF on you computer and click on "Open". Now you will have two PCF's open that you can copy and paste or highlight and drag from one to the other.

ummm......sounds simple but, not working
I opened one file, File, Open Config., Selected a 2nd .pcf file and get a message "Do you wish to revert to the saved .pcf? Yes/No. Tried clicking on either yes or no. Either way the file I have open is 'replaced' by the 2nd .pcf, in other words, a second window does not open.

Thats weird. You may want to try uninstalling and then doownloading the software and reinstalling. I have no idea if this will help but you are the first person I have come across with this problem. So I am grasping at straws here.
