Has anyone else come across this BUG? Try the following, create a button, and assign multiple (two or more) IR Codes to it to send successive digits to a remotely controlled device. E.g, let say I want to change to channel 16 -- thus, I need to send IR Codes with 'Digits 1' & Digit 6' to change to channel 16. So I create a macro with the first IR Code for 'Digit 1' and add a second IR Code for 'Digit 6'. However, when I look at the first IR Code, which is supposed to be 'Digit 1', it *now* shows up as 'Digit 6'...!!! Change the first IR Code value to 'Digit 4' and watch the last IR Code value also change to 'Digit 4'. Change the last IR Code to 'Digit 8' and watch the first IR Code value also change to 'Digit 8', etc. etc. etc. Change any IR Code to 'Digit n' and the *other* IR Code also change to the same value as the last 'Digit n value you selected.

Am I crazy? Is anyone else also getting this problem? Is this a bug???

Thank you.

Cameron

Let me clarify my statement: The bug is not apparent when you create a button on a device page.

However, the BUG is definitely present when you create sequential/successive digits inside the Actions -> Normal Actions for a DEVICE.

Say from the Pronto’s main home page, when you select TV, you want to the Pronto to switch to the TV page, and execute a couple of automated actions (e.g. to turn ON the TV, and switch to channel 16). To have the remote do this, you would do the following:

Under the main Home page, create a New Device – label it TV. Right click the TV Device, select Properties, go to Settings tab, and make 'Type of Device' = TV, 'Brand' = Sony, 'Code set' = 0027. Now, still on the Device Properties windows, select the Actions tab, select Normal Actions. Add IR Code, select ‘Power On’. Add IR Code, select 'Digit 1', again select Add IR Code, select 'Digit 6'. Go back and edit any of the IR Codes for the 'Digit n' No matter which digit you edit, the other IR Code changes to the same Digit value...

Haven't tried your approach, but I have many buttons that are programed to switch to specific channels. For example, if I want a button to go to channel 341, I link to the digits for the device but I don't mess with combining the codes in any way in the panel:

Link IR codes, Sat Num Pad, Digit 3
Link IR codes, Sat Num Pad, Digit 4
Link IR codes, Sat Num Pad, Digit 1
Link IR codes, Sat Num Pad, Enter

This seems to work nicely for me.

Dave, could you try the following please: Open a device page, go to a button, right click and select Properties (Button Properties), go to Actions tab, Normal Actions. Add a couple of IR codes for different digits. Then edit one of the digits to some number, and check if the other IR Code digits are the same value as the last digit you selected...

Thank you.

I saw on you PCF that you had two learned IR codes in the same actions box. I have never tried to use two learned codes in the same action box, I always use a link to the learned IRcodes to form my macros. I will do some testing tonight to see if you can do two directly learned codes in a macro.

On your PCF check you power control for your VCR, to me it was kinda of a loop that never really turns the power on.

Dave, I have not posted a PCF... So you might have been looking at someone else's PCF... :-)

I have tried your approach to link multiple digits to the Action list (macro) for a button. But this does not work. When you LINK to something, that 'thing' (i.e button, set of Actions, etc.) have to pre-exist. So, if I created a button, and I want to associate pressing 'Digit 1' and 'Digit 6' consecutively with that button, it will not work -- 'Digit 1' and 'Digit 6' are IR Codes, and thus they cannot be linked (or referenced) unless you have previously defined a specific button for 'Digit 1' and specific button for 'Digit 6' ...

Thanks.

You are right that they cannot be linked unless they exist. This is why the majority of people have a hidden device which contains all availiable functions of a remote and they just link to those functions from their visible interface.

Just make a hidden device with a set of buttons 0 - 9 that contain each code and link to those buttons. It's not a work around it is the way the remotes were designed to work and have been since day 1 of the TSU1000
