Does this function work in PENG? I was trying to put a discrete code in and could not get this to work. First, even if there is a code, learned or from database, programmed into a button, when I select Edit/View IR the dialog box which comes up is empty. I have tried to copy code from this site and paste it. When I paste it, the cursor jump like the action occured, but again there is nothing in the box. Any ideas???

If your button is working (sending out an IR code) then there should be a code in the "Edit IR Window" when you press the "View/Edit IR.." button.

When pasting the code in some people have tried to paste it into the line above the "View/Edit.." button called name. You have to press the "View/Edit.." button which opens the "Edit IR Window". Now you should be able to copy and paste the codes from the files section in Remote Central. Once you have pasted a code there it will be converted by PENG to the correct format.

Problems...
The code has to be a clean code or PENG won't accept it.
Some codes just won't paste..Work arounds..Copy the code to Word and then copy to from Word to PENG...When you copy the code select (highlight) it from the rear of the code to the front ( sounds crazy but it works on some) and then paste it in PENG.

Thanks Archer,

I believe I figured out (with your help) what I was doing wrong. I was selecting "Add IR code" then "Edit/View IR". I now see that I have to double click the learned Code and then it will let me view/paste new code into the Edit/View code window

Not so crazy. Things you copy from web-pages usually copy the RTF (rich-text-format) codes as well, and PENG doesn't know what to do with those. Paste into WordPad first where you can select "Paste Special..." and paste as "Unformatted Text". (If you paste into a document that you've previously saved as "Text Document" then pasting as Unformatted Text is the default.) I've been able to select it in any order once I do that.
