I just got mine and compared to my 2000 it is very slow. When you press a button to change to another screen it beeps, sits at least a second, then switches. Anyone else notice this, have a fix, or can explain????

Thanks.

Have you loaded the firmware update???[Link: remotecentral.com]

As far as page changes on the remote, I see very little difference between the two. A 5 second macro on the 2000 takes 6 seconds on the 3000.

Archer...

The page/device jumps are slow (I don't use any kind of animation for the pages). Mine takes about 5 secs to go from HOME to a device (2.24 secs in my TS1000). I mean slow, the new firmware do not take care of the speed of the remote, maybe just IR sending (still slow too).

This is a bug.

I am wondering if it is actually a bug, or just that the new platform/processor is slower than the old. Maybe they picked more features over speed.

gremmiedude,
I just got my TSU3000 today and I'd have to agree with you. Switching from the device page to a specific device definitely seems slow.
But so far I like all the other features of the remote, that if this isn't improved, I can live with it.
I really like the way all the buttons are illuminated. This is the one big complaint I have with my Marantz RC5200. I can't see the hard buttons while watching a movie in a very cark room.

From my Home Page to my DVD Player Device, with the following macro takes just a shade over 4 seconds...
With a 1000 about 3.5 seconds..

I was able to take out all of the delays I had in my old ccf - with the slower IR currently on the 3000 the macros worked fine without them. Helped a little for me.

Archer...

Just to let you know... The remote is working a little bit faster (I didn't do anything but download the same PCF with some modifications). Even the jumps are faster (still not as fast as the TS1000). I had a macro useless because of the speed, and now is working.

I don't know what happened.

Maybe the firmware has to be reapplied?

I will keep testing and let you know.

I think I will wait until the new firmware, what do you think?

Willy.

My macros seemed to be going slower and then I noticed that the battery level was on 1. So I put new batteries in and things speeded up. Now the test, put the old batteries back in, macro around 7 seconds to run, new batteries in, macro around 5 seconds to run.

Acher,

How long were the old batteries in the remote? About how many times did you down/upload?

Im just asking this to see about how long batteries last in this remote compared to 1000/2000.

Mine was 1 when all changed and fixed itself. Then It started to reset itself and then I changed the batteries and now the remote is back as it was before: slow. The macro again doesn't work. This is weird.

I don't know if do the firmware again or hard reset it.

Any help?

The batteries were the original Phillips powerlife. The remote is about 2 weeks old and has had dozens of downloads. Also the LCD and light are set to a long viewing time (30 seconds) so I can study what the changes that I download look like and what needs to be modified.

Thanks for the battery post Archer. I thought mine were dying quickly. Mine's almost drained after having it for two weeks and uploading/downloading configurations.

I sure hope once we start using it, the battery life will be decent. I wonder if it's worth it to get the charger.
