Pronto TSU3000 (Next Generation)
Application Ver: 2.0.38.1
Database Ver: 1.2.1
Boot Loader Ver: 2.35b

I am trying to use the Brand SEARCH function to search for compatible codes for my Sony KV-32HV600 television and Onkyo HT-S755DVC home theater equipment. When the first set of codes are found (which turn the equipment on or off), I select OK and then TRY. However, when this brand/device selection is not appropriate (not all the buttons seem to work, and I wish to search for a "better" match), I select BACK and then CONTINUE to "continue" the search. However, there seems to be a *BUG* in the CONTINUE SERACH option, because it seems to always start searching for device codes from the beginning of the database (same place as where it started the *first* time), and always stops at the first (*same*) device that it found. RATHER, the CONTINUE SERACH option, should *CONTINUE* it's search at the NEXT DEVICE, IMMEDIATELY AFTER the last device that you tried...!!!

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Thanks.

Cameron

Cameron,

This is what I believe happens - I suspect it is correct but might not be:

When you do a search, it only appears to try and turn your equipment off and does not populate the other buttons. The turn off feature is supposed to indicate which IR catalog has the best chance to control your equipment. Then, you need to consider using that specfic catalog (or possibly pasrt of all of the others) when you link it to your buttons.

Hope this makes sense...Dave

Dave, thank you for your reply. I might not have expressed myself clearly. My problem is not with using the "other features" other than the power on/off, during the brand search feature. But rather, it seems that when you use the BRAND SEARCH feature, once you hit OK to stop searching and TRY the device/code-set that was found, if you are not happy with the selection and want to *CONTINUE* the search, then you have to hit the BACK button, and select OK (or something similar) to confirm to *CONTINUE* SEARCHING for another set of device codes to control your desired equipment...
However, the SEARCH function does *NOT* apprear to resume the SEARCH at the next device (immediately after the last one that you had just tried), but rather, it apprears that the SEARCH feature starts right at the beginning of the database (*again*) and stops at the first device it found during the last search (*again*)...

There does not seem to be a way to let the SEARCHING logically resume with the next set of device codes immediately after the current device that you are testing/trying...???
