Hi there. I am a new TSU3000 user and I have a few questions I hope someone could answer. I have not used a Pronto before so I am am pretty new to this world.
1) I notice there are a lot of discrete codes but there does not seem to be an index that matches them with a particular device. How do you know what set of codes to use for a particular brand and type of device?
2) I have downloaded a few CCFs that othe people have kindly posted. I notice that ProtoNG Edit does not provide a way to export a bitmap. Is there a way to accomplish this so I could use expand on what is current out here in Pronto world.
3) Is there a place one can go to find out if there is a discrete code for a given device's operation. I am currently trying to figure out how to get to a particular Favorite list on a DIsh 6000 receiver. I am sure their will be other functions I am going to need.
Any ideas and pointers for the ProntoNG will be greatly appreciated.
1. You dont, discrete codes in my experience are a "try it and see thing" Check out the discrete section find codes for the manufacturer of your equipment make a bunch of buttons and try them to see if one works.
2. A .pcf is a .zip file in disguise. Make a copy of a pcf rename it to .zip and open it with your favorite zip utility and you will see all the bmp's. Windows XP thumbnail viewer is very handy here to see what icon is behind the cryptic name the bmp is given by NG.
3. Not really see #1. More times than not there is no discrete code for actions like that. That's where macros come in.
Read the help file in NG. It is full of good info. The keyboard shortcuts make life much easier. Live em Learn em Love em.
Thanks Cooch. WOW. I am suprised that there is not a web site that would allow provide the cross reference.. What a pan. Makes you almost just want to learn the codes.
