Here is how I resolved my programming issues with the Pronto TSU-3000 thanks to some guidance from TechSupport:
I took the Pronto and the remotes to be learned into a semi-dark incandescent lit room and placed both units on a dark piece of fabric. That seemed to do the trick. Evidently the Pronto is very particular about lighting conditions and surfaces that may reflect the signals.
Most of us that have used learning remotes before have not experienced this type of peculiarity.
Here's the tips from TechSupport:
