Have been fine-tuning my PCF for several days now. This evening I was downloading to the 3000 and all was fine. The 3000 responded with the usual beeps indicating the download was complete and successful. But PENG just sat there. Usually a pop-up appears a few seconds after the 3000 beeps … but not this time.

I waited a few minutes and disconnected the USB line. The 3000 would not respond to any actions. Removed battery cover and have done several resets. Have tried changing batteries, removed batteries for 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes and multiple resets. Nothing helps.

When applying a reset … the 3000 beeps two times (normal) and the ‘Philips’ and ‘Pronto’ logos will appear … the ‘Pronto’ logo actually does its ‘ripple’ effect … then nothing. The screen keeps the ‘Philips’ and ‘Pronto’ logos on constantly and the screen never turns off.

Anyone have any ideas?

I killed one of mine two weeks ago with those exact symptoms. I did the firmware upgrade that same day, but it worked for awhile before it crapped out on me. I returned it to my distributor..and mine was promptly replaced. I reported it to Philips at the CEDIA Philips training. They had never heard of that problem before, and I was assured that they would look into it.

A last-ditch effort before calling the dealer or Philips yielded outstanding results.

If you run across this problem … there is a fix.

First make sure the TSU3000 is listed in Device Manager (Human Interface Devices, USB Human Interface Device).

Next, perform a firmware update to the TSU3000. The update will tell you that the TSU3000 is not connected. Select continue. The update will ask you to press the reset button and, in my case, the update will occur. I have successfully downloaded my .PCF after applying the update … meaning it appears to work !!!

I hope this helps someone with a similar problem if it occurs …

Good Luck

Glad to hear you got it going. This sounds like one of those useful tips that will keep us going down the road. Good work on figuring out the problem.
