I am trying to find a quality IR controlled lightswitch. I just need a standard on/off switch with no dimmer. I went to Home Depot and found one but it seemed to be built really cheap so I took it back. Does anyone have a recommendation? I really don't want to buy an X-10 and have to buy a converter and anything else that involves.
Thanks,
Phil

I installed a Lutron remote-controlled light switch about 2-3 years ago. The light switch is around a corner from where I sit, but I can control it by bouncing the IR signal off a wall! It has worked flawlessly. The one I own has a dimmer, but Lutron makes quite a variety of switches, so they might make one that meets your needs. I bought mine over the Internet.

Does this switch work with the pronto? how do you lean the code?

I agree with Paul about Lutron. We did a recent remodel and we put in the Lutron Spacer System, which has built-in IR in all of the dimmers and they work very well. The ir codes are readily available. Many are already in the database, under the "Home" category. They are also in my .pcf which is posted in the new files section.
