Has anyone had trouble trying to paste a discrete code from RCentral into PENG?
I've followed 2 different ways (basic Copy-Paste) and copying into a separate file and then pasting from the file into PENG, all I get is an empty "Edit IR Code" window. Please HELP!

what code? the 3000 uses a different IR format, so PENG needs to translate the string. If the code is dirty, PENG might not be able to handle the code.

PENG has to be in advanced mode (an option available during startup or as an option of the File menu; may require a restart of PENG). Then you can press the View/Edit button under Add IR Code and paste in your discrete codes. Believe me: this one frustrated the heck out of me until I figured out the Advanced Mode option. I know there have been a couple of other related posts in this forum...just can't seem to locate them at the moment. :-)

I am in advanced mode and it seems that I cannot paste codes in. I am under the "View/Edit" button under "Add IR Code" and paste in discrete codes, but it doesn't seem to stay in there. The next time I click on it, the code box is empty..as if I had done nothing.

Any suggestions? Thx!

Just a thought...
Are you trying to paste your code in the line called "Name" that is above the "Learn IR" and "View/Edit IR"? You have to click on "View/Edit IR" button and then paste the code in the box ("edit ir code") that pops up.

This was a problem I found when trying to cut/paste from the remotecentral.com site directly into PENG.

It would appear that there were some codes there at PENG didnt' like.

I then did copy/paste from remotecentral.com -> notepad, and then copy/paste from notepad -> PENG.
This worked OK.

None of those things worked, although I greatly appreciate your suggestions. These codes were specifically from the Lutron Spacer. I imported one of my ccfs to pcf format. All the other codes went through nicely, except the Lutron ones. I tried to copy and paste them in, but to no avail. As the Philips website warns, "The IR-codes may also not be translated correctly due to different formats between the CCF and PCF files. This may lead to lost or distorted IR-codes." I also tried to teach it in from my Pronto 2000 unsuccessfully. The only thing that worked was teaching in the codes from the original remote. I wonder what will happen when I need discrete codes and I don't have these codes or the original remote.

I had the same problem with Lutron Spacer IR codes. I even tried to learn them from the TS1000 to the TSU3000 but didn't work. I downloaded all the lutron ccf files available in Remote Central and tested all of them. Only one of them worked. If you want those codes in pcf format, let me know with a reply here.

I am not sure if this will help you or not but I had the same problem copying codes from Remote Central. Don't ask me how I figured this out but this is the only way I could get it to work. I had to highlight and copy the first line of the hex code and paste it to the Edit IR code dialog box. Without closing the Edit IR code dialog box I went back & repeated this the same way for the second line of the code. For the third line you have to highlight from RIGHT to LEFT (highlight the end of the third line of the code and go left) Right click copy and paste the 3rd line in the Edit IR Dialog box. Just make sure you highlight everything, including spaces, before you copy. That is the only way I could copy Sony discrete codes (from the website) into PENG. I am a newbie and don't know squat, so call me crazy, but I do know this worked for me....

PS- If someone has easier way, help a newbie out and let me know!

I just hope that RC's library of codes for the 1000/2000's is not compromised. All other codes except Lutron did work, so that is good. I am concerned if Sony's discrete power codes or something similar do not work. There is no original remote to learn these codes from.

All my Sony discrete codes work in the 3000 (TV, DVD, and Receiver power on/off, video inputs, Wide zoom and Normal).

A couple of the codes would not paste into the edit window, but if you highlight the code from bottom right to top left it will paste in. As soon as you click OK, PENG automatically converts it.
