Welcome to the new forum! This area is for discussion of Philips' new "Next Generation" Pronto products, such as the Pronto TSU3000 and ProntoEdit NG. These new products are, so far, only backwards compatible with previous Pronto models (so they can load Pronto CCF files, but older Pronto's can't load the new PCF format).

A brief poll: assuming that Philips has no plans to make Prontos forwards compatible with PCF files, would you like to see a new file area for PCF files, or would you want them in the existing Pronto area?

I would think a new file area, but if it is possible I think bmp files (like channel icons) should be reachable from any file area (CCF,NCF,PCF,ICF)

Hmmm, hard for me to mix them like that right now. Anyways, you'll need 16-grayshade images for the 3000. :-)

I think a separate file area is necessary, but a notice should be on the existing areas telling new 3000 users that they can import CCF files for access to graphics and IR codes.

Also, it might be a good idea for the "old" Pronto forum to include mention of this forum at the top of the page, in much the same way as the Neo forum is mentioned.

Daniel, I like the enhancements of the last post author and how many peoples have viewed the thread!
I would go with a different file area for .PCF files.

Martin :-)

That enhancement has been available to the intermission forum for a while now.

Hope I don't get struck down for this but......

Is there a review of this remote somewhere, I would be interested to read about it's features.

Thanks,
Bruce.

Bruce: From what I understand Daniel got the software at the same time as the rest of us. So the answer is that there is no review yet. You could try what's new sep. 4 and 5. 5 had a lot of details on included features. And you can read these threads.

Also, Bruce - download the owner's guide from this site or the Philips site, since it contains a list of new features along with detailed usage instructions.

You should also play with ProntoEdit NG since the emulator emulates *all* of the features of the remote - even the configuration screens. You can get a pretty good feel for how the remote works by using the emulator.
