I have two questions about the Pronto.

Are they making a Macintosh version of this software?

If I have a DBS system with an RF remote, does anybody make an RF to IR converter that will allow me to use the Pronto to control the DBS receiver?

Thanks
Dave

Sadly Mac software is unlikely. But this software will not take a powerful machine to run, so you have two options.
1) Buy a used PC, or use a friend's.
2) Use SoftWindows or another emulation program.
As for the RF to IR, you might want to check and see if your DBS can't use IR signals. From what I see in other posts, many use both.

there is also a 50 dollar doodad that attaches to the front of the remote that converts ir to rf.

Do dads are available from a few sources although they are primarily designed to be an exact fit to a given remote.
Marantz has such a unit for the RC2000's and I'll check to see if it fits onto the Pronto, what a concept in engineering if it does. Else, the other ones to fit all the DSS type are made by a company called Windmasters as I recall. Another thought is that maybe Philips embedded RF into the Pronto and it just isn't turned on yet, but that's only a guess on my part as I haven't looked inside one to find out. If this was true, it would be brilliant engineering.
