The Takecontrol and Madrigal appear to be the same remote from the picture they have on HK's website.

Anyone know of a Canadian dealer which sell's these?

I've found a Madrigal dealer in Alberta
that said they will have them by month's
end, for $700.00CDN. None of the HK dealers
I've contacted knew when their version of
this remote will ship.

If shop4.com sticker for the HK of 285.00US
is any indication, then even with exchange and shipping, you're looking at less cabbage than
buying it locally. They won't ship cross
border, but just as a price reference.

I'm looking at the remote, and it doesn't even have hard channel keys. Don't like that. It also doesn't have a hard Display key, which I use very much with my DSS dish.

I'm probably gonna hold out for the Pronto or RC5000.

The H/K & Madrigal remote do appear to be the exact same. I'm still waiting to receive one for review.

Max,

I think you can use the wheel for channel zapping.

I've seen and operated both remotes at the CEDIA show. The Harmon has the software now but is slower (WinCE) and has inferior backlighting. As far as the HK and Madrigal being the same, yes, they are the same. The difference is that Madriagl dealers get a different set of software(not for general release) that allows them to save multiple configs for their customers. Seems to me to a bit silly as it's probably fairly easy to have multiple data files and just change the listing in the INI files. I will be getting some of both the HK's and the Madrigals in the next week-10 days and will advise what I find if you're interested.

Jack,

I would be interested. I think most of the readers here would. Thanks.
