Hi,
I have called Philips once each of the past several weeks and keep getting an availability date that is 2 week, then 3 weeks, then 4 weeks away. The folks manning the phones at philips appear to be surprized that some in the east have already purchased units. Does anyone know more.
Thanks,
Clay

From Jack Schulz:

"Sorry no Pronto's yet...I do however know that the only units in the field slipped out in error. The balance of the inventory that is here in the U.S. is not slated to release from Philips until at the earliest tomorrow, and that's pushing it. I spoke with my Philips contacts this past Monday and there's some kind of a customs glitch."

I talked to Philips aswell and they told me they would have them earliest as the 14th. Then, they have to go through pricing. So hopefully next week!

Does anyone know if they're going to be available in Canada? If so, when, where and how much?
"Hats Off" to Daniel for organizing this site!!!

Hi,
My contacts at Philips must not be very good....I just called Philips (customer service center) and again they said "the Pronto SHOULD be available in December...." Is the November 14th date for the entire US or a specific region only?
Thanks,
Clay

I talked to Philips Cust. Service many times aswell. The first time, they told me it would be available the 14th, then when I called the 14th, they told me the 21st.

Apparently they are all as confused as we are!!

I think for now the term "limited availability" would work best. It seems they're just dribbling in from manufacturinig, and once they have a few go here, a few go there... hopefully they can stabilize their shipments soon so they don't miss that all-important Christmas season.

We should be receiving Pronto's on Monday 11/23/98. They are shipping larger qtys into larger markets. If you're interested, let me know. And yes, limited availability until 1999 is definately the word I've gotten. Enough for the Xmas season, probably not for most.
