what type of charger is the pronto docking station? like a cordless phone where you put the phone on the charger whenever not in use, or like a rechargeable battery recharger where you only recharge when the batteries are totally dead?

There's a picture of in on the main page. It's an actual docking station - a unit that sits on a table. You sit the pronto flat on top (actually at a slight upwards angle so you can use it while docked). It's quite decorative, and seems like a good place to keep the unit while not in use. I'm not sure what effect this would have on the batteries (always keeping it on charge) but the charger does shut off when it senses the batteries are full.

The charging station sells for $79USD and comes with a Nimh battery pack for the Pronto. Because of the Nimh battery technology, you should be able to keep it in the charger wehn not in use so it's always "hot" when needed.

Does anyone know of any place that has the charging station available and in stock?

I am not sure how fast the Pronto eat's good batteries, but I used up the batteries it shipped with after aprox 3-4 weeks of heavy use.

Jack is in Chicago.

His number is (312) 781-0045.

Careful though. After half an hour on the phone to Jack, I just had to make a trip to my dealer to organise an audition of a Meridian 561 processor at $5000! His enthusiasm is infectious!

You don't here much about the 561, but it rocks.

See [Link: softronix.com] for a review.

P.S. I've yet to see a demo that does it justice in the store.

Sorry to be off the subject here.
