Heh heh, could be. I know those shareware authors "borrowed" off each other. The thing's copyright 1992!

I think I know what you mean. I downloaded something called "Magic Squares" for my HP 48GX calculator a few years ago. I was playing with the idea on that one too, but I would have to flip/rotate identical screens just to get it to fit. I believe that one could be made, similiarly to the tic-tac-toe.

The one for the calculator started with a random screen. The trick would be to getting a "random" start screen, but I may use George's idea for that, just start with one of 4 starting sequences.

Cary! Fellow HP48S(G)X user! Sorry. Just so happy I found someone who uses this thing. I still have mine from 1992, and it got me through college. I used to do extensive programming on it, and miss not being able to do similar stuff on the Pronto (after all, it's just a remote :) ). The 1 thing I miss about it, and wish the Pronto had, is a ifthenelse capability, and flags/variables.

Sorry I got off topic folks. Just taken aback for a sec.

Just uploaded a card trick ccf, and Daniel has added to the "Fun and Games" section. Give it a shot.

Any card games that could be created in under 30-40 screens? Anybody have any solitaire games that could be designed this way?

Maybe a mini-Othello board?

I calculated that one game I wanted to do would take at least 512 screens. :-)

Cary...where'd you get the card images from?? I'd really like to get my hands on some nice, clean images like those.

Uhmmm, don't know how to tell you this, but I don't
think I have time to draw up 512 screens... 8)

I uploaded a better version of the card trick, one that is a little more confusing than the first one. It is amazing what a difference there is when you have all face cards. There is a web site that does this same thing, and it is a little more riveting doing it on the web...

I tried -- the Pronto can't hold 512 screens. About 12k too big. :-)

I used the Windows Solitaire game to do it. You just have to hit Alt-Print Screen, then go into a graphics editor and paste. Then lasso in the card images, clean them up, and save them out. I am using Photo Impact by ULead software, scanning software company.

George and I are working on v1.1 of the Zork game that somebody started over on the ProntoEdit forum. Will keep everyone up to date on how it is going. Test game was sent to George on 3/12. About 53K, so it should fit on some people's prontos. Expect to see it by the end of the week.

I gotta have it... they said it is well guarded ... in Zork ... what's in here ? ... aaaaaahhhh ...

ZORK - Play it and you'll be afraid to hold the pronto in the dark.

Soon on your Pronto.

Just uploaded Zork (Space) v1.1. Watch for it!

It is about 60K. Please email me with any bugs, and
maybe some wish list items. If I have time and the plot path is not altered too much, I might make the changes.

Have Fun! I plugged this site rather extensively, just to show our appreciation of Daniel and his work! :-)

Zork is now available under Fun and Games. The basis for the game came from a ccf started over in ProntoEdit.com, but I finished at least one version of it. Thanks to George Fournaris for testing and handing out some neat ideas.
