Purchased a Kenwood VR2080 and I'm not too crazy about the LCD joystick remote. Does anyone know whether the Pronto can control the Kenwood? Thanks.

According to what I am seeing in this forum, it can. I have the same and am purchasing a Proto.

I have the 2080 and have not had any problems with using the Pronto. The only issue I have noticed is with the RO907 remote. It has a VERY weak IR signal, so keep it relatively close to the learning eye on the Pronto. If you have specific problems, drop me an email, I have had alot of experience with this remote, and I may be able to give you a solution to any problems you may have.

I just recently finished programming my Pronto for the majority of the functions of the Kenwood remote. If you would like, I could send you that portion of my CCF. If you decide to program it yourself, be aware that you may have to press the power button several times on the RO907 during the learn process. The remote doesn't send the command instantly.

Email me if you would like the CCF.

I have had a few problems with programming the VR-2080 remote into the Pronto, but solved them by first programming them into another universal remote, then teaching the Pronto from that one. I also dislike the Kenwood remote immensely.

My father have this Kenwood VR-2080 but he doesn't have the remote control. Now he wants me to find a online seller of the remote control only. Do you know someone who sells the remote control only?

There is a receiver + remote on Ebay right now with an auction that expires in 3d and is only $0.99USD.
