The touchscreen on my CHAD Intelligent Remote (Model #USR-5RF) has stopped working. It powers up but does not respond to touch commands on any button. Can it be repaired? For less than the cost of buying a replacement? Onkyo support has been no help.

Not likely that you will find a screen.

You could ebay a TSU1000/2000, Marantz RC5000/5000i and swap out the screens. Or better yet, if you can find a Marantz RC5000i, they have slightly different firmware that allows for Multiple Page Jumps inside a single Macro meaning that you can do startup animations and the like. The Chad, I think had a built in IR database but if you have learned all your codes and have not used database codes, you should be able to open your CCF and use on the Marantz.

In fact, there is one there like new for $50USD. A screen, if available (last one I bought was over 10 years ago) would have been no less than $35.00US.
