Hello. I am new here and new to this Phillips remote.
I bought it new and pretty cheap. How old of a remote is this actually?
When I place it on the charger, it makes good contact and the 2 green lights blink, but the battery did not charge after 7 hours of being on the charger.

i have an older computer that I plugged the remote into with the serial cable thinking it would charge like that (like USB's do), but it's not charging like that either.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm pretty good electronically and this seems trivial but it's not working. The battery is new too!

As I mentioned above, the unit was never used before.

Thanks!

Ron

When the battery is blinking, the contacts are not being made correctly (I believe). Try reseating it until the lights no longer blink and a are solid green.

I'm thinking the remote is at least 10 years old. I bought mine in 2004 and it was already older by then.

Oh goodness...I didn't know it was THAT old. I saw good reviews of it somewhere and they didn't mention any dates/age...

I'll try to seat it again when I get home tonight...Does it require a solid push down to engage the connection or something?

From the Pro Forum response. Try a new battery as well.

Make sure none of the pins are bent.
