I have an RC9200 that isn't very happy....

When I power on or reset it, the front panel says to tap in the top left corner and then in the bottom right, but on that 2nd tap it just emits a buzz and says "Calibration Failed".

I tried the Undead option in Tonto, but that didn't work.

I ran a firmware update on it and TouchEdit reported that as successful, but the problem still persists.

I connected it up to Hyperterm and when I reset it I get the following:

Can anybody help me out and let me know if it is recoverable?

Thanks very much!

I had the same thing on my remote a while back. Try a stylus or the back of a pen rather than a large finger to calibrate it. If your software is corrupt it can be restored to default. However I think you need to calibrate it first. Let me now and I will dig out the restore instructions.

Good luck

Hi,

This posting should be in the Philips Pronto Classic forum you should get more help there! An easy mistake to make when you have the RC9200 and this is the forum for the TSU9200. Your RC is based on the TSU6000 for future reference.

I'm sure you can ask a moderator to move it for you.

As far as help goes, did you do the calibrating with a finger or something else. There were issues on some Pronto remotes where it was suggested to use a stylus or object with a plastic point to press the screen.

If that doesn't help then I can't offer anythig more. No doubt others can make suggestions.

Stoobie

Update - I see Stealth beat me to it :o)
RC9500, RC5400, RU940 & Pronto Neo, Windows Vista.

Thanks for the reply - that is what I did, and it worked!

I was able to then use Tonto to undead the remote and download the default pcf, and then I loaded my one, and it's up and running.

I actually bought this one to salvage the case from for one that got dropped, but getting it going saved me the trouble.
