After 6 years of using only the URC MX-3000, I have just picked up my old Marantz RC9200 again as I want to use it in my cabin.

Good news; after repairing the charger station everything seems to work, even on my new Windows 7 PC (after some struggles with USB adapters and COM-port settings).

Bad news: I have forgotten so much programming :-(

Today's question: When I make a jump from one panel to another, the screen change is very slow, with one screen gradually blanking, then the next screen gradually appearing. I cannot remember it doing that. Can I select different styles for screen change, like on a power point presentation?

I'm still using my 9200 as well. Not sure what's going with your's, but a jump should be quick. There are no different "styles" to be had. I assume you're doing a jump from within a soft button's action list and not something else.

The classic suggestion for "strange" behavior is to reflash the firmware. You could also download a ccf from the files area and see if the behavior clears up. I.e. is it your ccf, or the remote.

Assuming that this happens on all configurations... then there's no settings on the RC9200 that would do what you describe. If you use the scroll buttons it draws the page in memory and then scrolls it, or if you do a page jump it draws it live. There's no fading effect unless it was done through a series of page jumps by the configuration file.

Could this actually be some sort of hardware problem?

Figured it out, works very slowly between pages under Home and Devices, but quickly enough between pages under Devices.

Have just built a TV into a cabinet, changed the original RF trigger for the lift to IR, then installed the Marantz RF unit inside the cabinet. Works like a charm! Nothing to see from the outside (a remote cabin where the TV would otherwise quickly be stolen) and 4 remotes (one for the TV, one for the sound bar installed on the lift with the TV, one for the BluRay player in the bottom of the cabinet which also required RF to be used with closed cabinet and one for the lift) all replaced by my old RC9200 which is again of use :-)

Is there an instruction manual for Touch Screen Set-up? Have found on for the remote itself, but that does not cover programming of the remote using the software. Have found the manual for RC5000 Set-UP version 2, but that doesn't seem to cover everything I need...

No, software manuals weren't regularly created - in the file area I have everything that was ever made.

However there's a lot of information in the program's help... not to mention the Pronto FAQ.

Check the Device ActionList when going from Home into Devices as if they have delays or IR codes there, that could explain the slow behavior.
