Thanks in advance!
I copied and pasted the HEX for my Kinergetics C800 from RemoteCentral and promptly asked the great guys at Logitech to convert it to a Harmony 880 device for me. They replied that they need the "Pronto HEX file" so that they can implement it in the Harmony database. I'm pretty technical but am unable to find a utility that considers this HEX valid. Can someone please give me a quick walk-thru? here is the code:

Harmony usually just need the hex codes as you posted above.

Do they want a CCF file with the hex codes in it?

They must be getting lazy!

If you need a CCF file you will need to use Philips ProntoEdit v4.0.5 and see How do I use these codes in ProntoEdit?

Cheers

Thanks Jason!
Here is what they responded:

"Dear Jerry,

Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Care about your Universal Remotes

I am sorry that your device is not in our database. Can you please send a pronto hex format file to us, so we can add it in our database?

We hope you have found this helpful. If you have any further questions please feel free to reply to this email and we will get back to you shortly. Thank you once again for contacting Logitech Customer Care.
Regards,

Logitech Customer Care"

I can do it once I figure out all the S/W version issues; your reply specifies prontoEdit 4.x while the link refers to 1.x and 2.x.

So no one has developed a one-click converter? I may have found a deep winter project!

Which Pronto file format?

Pronto uses CCF, PCF and XCF files depending on which model.

So have you sent those hex codes you posted in post 1 to them? Because that is all you usually have to do. I have never read any posts for Harmony requiring CCF files or any other format other than what you have already.

The codes you posted are RC5 Protocol and I have read and responded to other posts that Harmony have asked for longer hex codes for RC5 codes but the lenght and format of the hex codes you posted are correct. The frequency is a bit out but that shouldn't be a problem. Harmony just may think that the hex codes are wrong (to short) but they are not!

If you can find out for sure if they need them in a CCF file I will make it for you...will only take me 10 minutes or so.

I just confirmed that if I can get these codes in a ccf format, Harmony will implement the device in the database. I really appreciate it, drop me a PM, i may be able to reciprocate for the ccf favor.

Thanks again,
Jerry

Jerry,

Note that you can install and use ProntoEdit 4.0.5 without having a Pronto Remote. You'd simply create buttons, add IR code data to those buttons, and go from there.

You can also use a java program named Tonto.
