I have a STR-DA3100ES receiver, which comes with the RM-US106A. I'm going to learn the remote codes from that remote, but I wonder whether anyone knows discrete on/off codes for this remote for each zone. Anyone? Thanks!

Did you search the files section to see if anyone has contributed a file for this receiver?

Yes, I did. Sadly I was unsuccessful. I couldn't even find a CCF with a 3000 or 5000 series receiver, unfortunately.

I think I should've posted over at the discrete forum, so I'll do that now.

There is very good information on Sony IR signals at
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

I don't even know what a STR-DA3100ES is, so I don't know for sure that it follows the signal structure documented on that web site. But I'd be very surprised if it is significantly out of pattern.

If the 2nd and 3rd zone commands aren't documented there, I think you could still use that web site to compute the discretes you want.

1) Use DecodeIr.dll with either DecodeCCF or the JP1 version of IrTool.exe to decode some ordinary zone2 and zone3 commands.

2) Look up the same commands on that web site. If you don't find them directly, compare to the zone 1 equivalents. I assume there will be a simple relationship for the same command across zones. Apply that same relationship to the discretes you want.

3) Use MakeHex.exe to generate the commands. If you want a lot of them, use IrPanels.exe to get them into a CCF file.

If some of that is confusing, post pronto hex for a few learned signals in zone 2 and 3 (along with the names of those signals), or better yet post the URL of a CCF containing a bunch of such learned signals. I'll walk you through the rest of the process.

schalliol,

I'm thinking about buying a new Sony receiver that has the 2nd zone feature, so I'd be interested in learning how you make out with the codes.

Thanks for the thoughts folks. I've thus far been unsuccessful with this. Any additional thoughts? Thanks!
