I was interested in everything "Pronto" that I could find and found this site

www.ProntoGallery.com

3 Large galleries
Over 1,000 panels
Over 3,000 buttons
50 Pre-made ready to learn templates for novice users
Over 250 pages of documentation

Looks pretty good to me!

What does everyone think?

Hmm, what do I think, let's see:

- First post
- Limited info in user's profile
- Summary of the site is the same as on the site's main page
- Site is commercial, not a free resource

So it looks like you're advertising to me.

Additionally, the "gallerys" are advertised for a 6000, but feature "over 3000 animated buttons"???? 6000's don't do animated buttons (gifs), so it doesn't sound like they're as knowledgeable as they'd like you to believe. Much of the graphics (that you can see) seem pretty rudimentary (better graphics available in our files area). Manuals may be good, but I didn't bother to download and check.

Hello to all!

bomberjim, I am the owner of ProntoGallery.com and I unfortunately cannot control what new users post, including any content. I did contact Daniel about my software over 1 year ago but didn't have a way to market it (a website). So I took it upon myself to build a website to sell my product. I have just recently contacted Daniel again about placing an advertisement link to my website.

I absolutely do NOT expect free advertising.

I made a legitimate product and now I need a place to market it, I expect that my software will make a great contribution to all TSU2000 & TSU6000 Pronto users and I realize that Remotecentral.com is THE place to advertise such a product.

I am a longtime member of Remotecentral.com, (since August 2001) and have made a great contribution here as well. If you look in the top downloads list, you will see a file there under the "for all time" section named "Doug's Gallery" and see that it has over 61,000 downloads. Will I claim no ownership of any of the buttons in that gallery; I did spend countless hours creating the compilation and gladly shared it with the world, which is obviously a very popular download.

Now bomber Jim, a few things I'd like to clear up regarding some comments about my website...

What I mean by animated buttons is that when they are pressed, the button "looks" like it is being pressed (the pressed state versus the unpressed state), changes color or both. I never make a claim to "animated gifs".

All buttons I created are purposely meant to basic but vast and comprehensive. Some people just want something simple to operate. When using my software, you can easily distinguish not only what device you are on, but what page on that device you are on. I make no claim that my graphics are better, as a matter of fact, my TV Icons aside (which I happen to love, just my personal opinion though) there are PLENTY of buttons on this very site that do have much better graphical buttons out there. There are some extremely talented people out there that post and give to this site, I recognize that, and am NOT attempting to compete with it.

I hope that I've cleared up any misunderstandings and look forward to hearing some options from Daniel.

Thank you.

Mea Culpa, I assumed that someone connected to the site was drummin' up interest. Wouldn't be the first time that happened.

I now understand what you mean by the word "animated", but some other touchscreen remotes do have a true animated capabilty. The Mx-3000 from Home Theater Master for example. While I don't think your use of the word is quite "proper", I understand what you mean. Hope you can understand how I could have misinterpreted it.

As far as my comments on the graphics, as I said, it was just based on what I could see. You're right when you say nothing is wrong with basic, and basic is a better description than rudimentary. I was only pointing out that if you're looking for something more "advanced", it didn't appear to be available. As far as your TV icons - they ARE very nice, and you should be proud. I was only mentioning that (as you say) some very nice graphics are available here - for free. Still, you do offer more in the package than just graphics.

Would I buy your package -- no, but I'm not a basic user. For a basic user, your package of manuals, templates, and graphics may be a really good deal. But then again, I wouldn't recommend a Pronto for a basic user, too complicated to set up unless you're willing to spend alot of time.

I kinda sense that your nose is a little out of joint concerning my post. To your credit, your response was measured, and well written. Please understand, while I stand by my comments, MY INTENT wasn't to offend YOU (except that I thought you were the OP), and the only REAL criticism I made was over "animated", which I still don't think is an appropriate description. So, hope there's no hard feelings, and if I see a post asking for this kind of resourse, I'll point 'em your way.

bomberjim,

Hey, no problem. As a matter of fact, your point about the "animation" part was well taken to the point that I have removed it from the website. Now it just says "Over 3,000 buttons". Thank you for your input on that. Because of time constraints, some of the manuals will still temporarily say this though.

Thanks much for the compliment on my TV Icons, I really do appreciate it and worked hard on them. Now for the ooonly thing I have to disagree with you on and I think you'll agree after I explain. This is in regards to not recommending a Pronto to a basic user. This is 1 of the very things that make Galleryware worth it. A brand new user of a Pronto can pick 1 of 50 different color schemes in my template catalog, and then use manual 1 for a complete step by step instruction on how to download to the Pronto and teach the buttons. If you download manual 1, I think you might be surprised at how "literally" I mean this and how well it is setup.

So no hard feelings of any kind, I do appreciate your input and mindfulness of my website. Thanks.

I still think it was someone "drummin' up interest". Luckily, someone (vendor) was monitoring this page MINUTES after the thread poster (vendor puppet or vendor under different id) did his thing. Wheww!! Great timing!

antonewest..

Well, look at it this way. Why would I post 1 "interest" on a forum question only to have it "die out" and get lost behind pages of newer posts, when I can do things the proper and much more efficient way of advertising here? It just doesn't make good business sense.
