I need discrete on and off for a 50 pioneer plasma. (not sure of the model)

You might try the codes from this page for Pioneer RPTVs as Discrete On/Off are not listed for the plasma displays.

i have always used a "1" to turn them on, and then a "1 - pause - power" to turn them off again, but you will have to play with the pause as all units differ

The RPTV codes in the files section work no problem. I ran into a weird one the other day, a client has a Sony KV27S40 and the discrete codes didnt work for it with power but the video input did. Any ideas on this one?

somewhere there is a Sony System Off command that turns off every Sony product, I think, ever made, except for the Sony Pacemaker (My Last Sony). That doesn't help with the ON, but it sure simplifies the OFF.
