The 7155 VT is the TV, the remote is called 5652 18 30. Apparently thi remote has no carrier signal and I cannot learn it.

Who can help?

Thanks,

These codes will learn fine into a Pronto (TSU 1000, TSU 2000, etc.) - The Pronto's built-in database may already have them in fact (or perhaps the built-in DB of one of the newer NG models).

But as mentioned in the other forum, they won't work on the Harmony (which doesn't support unodulated signaling).

Hi, I got a message from the support team and they said that they can find a way to send the no-carrier signals. I actually "married" the Nokia signal with another remote and it sometimes works. The guy said if I could get hold of the Nokia Signals they are 99% sure that they can make it work. I either have to send in my remote (which I'd like to avoid) or I have to send them the codes.

So I'm looking for the codes - how can I get hold of it? In which format do they come along? Hex? I've been talking to Nokia, but they do not support it anymore...

Sorry I'm not technician, but I want to make it work!

Thanks,
KathiM

A Pronto TSU1000 or TSU2000 would (should) be able to learn those codes. A JP1-capable remote (such as the models by One For All) might also be able to learn them.

Via the Pronto route it's easy to extract individual ProntoHex strings for all the learned buttons or just save an entire configuration file (CCF) with everything in it.

Via the JP1 route you'd need a special JP1 cable for the remote and likely some help from JP1 experts in this forum or the JP1 forum (different site).

Some JP1 remotes may already have a setup code that supports that TV. You should probably ask this question in the OneForAll forum on this site for the best chance at an answer. If this is the case, the Harmony people can probably just use one of these relatively low-cost remotes to obtain the codes from.

I just checked the built-in database of the TSU2000 and it does not have Nokia TVs. The built-in DB for the European Pronto NG models do have Nokia TV codes - many sets of codes in fact. These codes are only useful however to be learned into something else - unlike learned signals you cannot read the ProntoHex for them.

My suggestion is to seriously investigate the OneForAll remotes and if one does support your TV, then purchase it inexpensively. Then test it. If it works, send your ORIGINAL remote to Harmony and use the new universal until they can add your codes to their database.

There is a CCF file for a Nokia TV that has an unmodulated protocol here:
[Link: remotecentral.com]

Don't get confused by the Sony TV in the same CCF. The TV using an unmodulated protocol is identified as "kitchen" within the CCF.

Maybe it is the same as your Nokia TV (I doubt Nokia uses many different unmodulated protocols).

Maybe the Harmony support group can work from that CCF file rather than from a physical remote.

There are a whole bunch of OFA setup codes that approximately fit that set of signals (could be used at worst with EFC mapping to fully support it). I don't have the data organised in a way to make it practical to tell which of those might support it without EFC mapping (keymoves).

Those setup codes seem to be almost entirely in the European models of OFA remote. Not one of them is in any common USA model. Almost all of them are in the 7541. Most are in the 7560 and 7562 and similar models. A few are in the 8060, and any of them could be loaded into the 8060 because OFA has web support for .wav files for the 8060.

With JP1 you could easily put any of them in a USA model.

I don't know if the One-for-all 7541 is even still sold (it is a very old model). It was the closest thing to a reasonably priced model OFA had in Europe (It wasn't reasonably priced but other models are even worse). (But that's from someone who would never even think about getting a Pronto or a Harmony).
