My Marantz 9200 has started to fail to upload to the touch screen set up program. It reports a failure error part way through the upload and not always at the same place in the upload process (as judged by the progressive bar tracking the upload in the upload window tracker).
I can download OK .... well it did the last time, and since doing an IR learn I do not want to try a down load again and overwrite the new settings.
Any other similar experiences from anyone ...... and the cause and fix?
Alan

There has always been a problem uploading LARGE ccfs to the computer. Don't know exactly what constitutes large, but I have about 39% free space, and mine won't upload either. This is true using TSS or Tonto. There is no fix. Generally, I have to download a small ccf, the one that has all my codes in it, learn any new codes, upload this small ccf, merge into my real ccf, and then download again. Not a lot of fun, but it works.

Thanks for that info and the tip.
How do you check the free space?

Just hit the menu icon in the top center of the screen (where the battery meter is located).

Thanks, found that I have 88% free memory which I guess means my CCF is not "large".
I did wonder if the serial port in the RC 9200 was sensitive to battery volts as they take a bit of power to send the data upstream. However with a fully charged battery it still failed. Wonder if would be any better using it on the charger base?

I wouldn't think that ccf was large either. I'd probably try the charger as well, but I doubt it'll help. You might also try downloading the "default.ccf" which is the very small factory ccf. If this fails, I'd suspect a remote, cable, or computer problem.

Well...... downloaded a new copy of the touch screen software onto a different PC running XP ....... and it uploaded with no errors first time.
Now the "old" PC runs 98SE and the touch screen set up folder has quite a few data files associated with it ...... not that they should influence to application software at all.
So, a little inconclusive other than it appears to be a PC problem ..... could be the serial port I suppose, as the PC is otherwise seemingly OK.

There was a .dll file that caused problems downloading with Tonto and Win 98, but not TSS. You might try reinstalling TSS on your Win 98 machine, sometimes this cures problems. Remember to reboot after installation. Also, if you used a different cable on the XP machine, that could also be the problem.

Used same cable. Maybe I will try reloading on the 98 PC later. For now I will continue to use the XP machine. Thanks for the help.
