Hello,

Newbie here. I have a CARY 303CD - CD player and lost the remote.
I have the IR codes from the CARY web-site. I also have a Pronto 1000 with the ProntoEdit software.

The codes on the site are all RC-5 standard. they look like this:

Open/Close System= 0x04 Command= 0x2D

When I go into Pronto Edit and enter those numbers it askes for an integer.

I'm not sure what that is. Can someone give me a clue on how to do this?
Really appreciate it!

Do you have any Pronto codes at all for this device. If so, paste the hex code here and someone might be able to tell you how to construct the other codes.

Peter,

Unfortunately - no.
I've searched the ENTIRE internet (no really) and even called CARY directly.
No one has codes for this thing. I think there was like 12 of them sold originally.

Any info or suggestions are much appreciated. It really sucks not having a remote for my CD player.

I just noticed that you mention they are RC5 codes. If that is the case you simply need to just select RC5 codes and enter the number. You have to convert them from hexadecimal to decimal.

0x04 is 4
0x2D is 2 x 16 + 13 = 45

The 0x indicates that is a hexadecimal number. You can use the Windows calculator to convert from hex to decimal. Select View, Scientific. Mark the Hex button, enter your hex number (without the 0x prefix) and then select the Dec button. Use the converted number in ProntoEdit and you should be OK.

In ProntoEdit, select a button, push Set IR and select Advanced. Select RC5 and enter your system and command codes for that button.

Good luck!

Sorry but I found out that the codes I downloaded are for a CD303/300
Completely different codes according to Cary.
I need to find a CCF file somewhere.

Thanks though!

I'm confused, I thought a 303 is what you have? Which codes do you need?

CARY made the CD303.
Then they came out with the CD303/100 then 303/200, then 303/300.

They list the codes on their site for the CD303/300 only.
Completely different codes for each unit.

If you read carefully (or I am blind), you haven't told us which model you actually have. You first say you need codes for the 303CD, later list the model numbers, but never point out which one you have.

Of course, only seven people in the universe have this anyway. Just looking for clarity.

Is CARY a big enough outfit that they actually made the units? How about calling them up and asking them if Funai made them? I have seen a lot of totally mediocre Funai product, so maybe that name might get their blood boiling enough to make them reveal the true manufacturer, and maybe you could get some info there. You would probably have to have some communication between Cary and the real manufacturer for them to release info to you, but it might work.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

First sentence of my original quote is "I have a CARY 303CD - CD player and lost the remote" I should have wrote "CD303" Dyslectic.

The model number of MY player is simply CD303. Thats it. No other numbers or letters.
They later came out with a CD303/100, then /200 , then /300
I have the CD303.

By the way I called CARY and they were absolutely no help.
They said they don't even remember who made the remote - which I find hard to believe.
Anyway, still searching.
