I have loaded various ccf files into ProntoEdit, but I never seem to be able to do anything with the bitmaps when I see one I like, and would want to use or modify. Do you have to 'unpack it' somehow?

Double click on the button in which you want to change the bitmap.

Click on the Icon tabs on that new window.

Right click on the buttom two icons. They are the one's that are used, the top two are just for refernce. Then just follow the "load" and other info on the right click menu.

But that's the problem.
When I right click on the icon, and click Load, it asks me where I want to load a bitmap from. But I don't seem to have any bitmaps, except 256 color ones from windows! All my .ccf files are in teh ProntoEdit4 directory, but no bitmaps show up.

I expected that on double-clicking on the icon, its bitmap would be loaded or something. Am I being dim?

If you want a bit map from ccf A, and you want it on ccf B. Then there are two ways in doing this. You can either merger the two ccf together. Which is the easiest way to get the job done. But when your done with that part you will have to delete everything tha you dont want. So you may not want to do that one.

The second way, is to load the bit maps into the icon that you want. But in order to get the bitmap, you have to "save" it from the first ccf.

Open cff B, double click on the button that you want to use the icon from.
Click on the icon tab.
Right click on the icon that you want to use.
Click on "Save" and save it on your HD.

Open ccf A, and follow the instructions above but click on "Load" instead of "Save".

You can download CCFTools from the Files Section and decompile your CCF file.

Upon decompilation, there will be a MYCCFName_Bitmaps folder containing all bitmaps from your CCF.

That's wonderful! Many thanks.

Do I remember correctly that this is the neat one that won't work for Marantz?

For RC9500 questions, you should be using the Pronto NG forum. Also, you should start a new thread for a question not really related to the current thread.

To answer your question, the editor does not provide any capability to modify graphics. You need to use a graphics package to do that. However, if your graphic does not have any text then you can specify text to appear over the graphic - but there is only the one font with only a few sizes.
