I have read in some threads that you have the Sony DVP-CX777ES DVD changer, if so maybe you can help me. I just got a 777ES last week and have DVD Lobby running the interface via RS232 Null cable. My problem is on one particular disc, Eagles “Hell Freezes Over”, when I give it a Direct Disc command it skips right over the first screen on the DVD that allows you to select DTS audio option, once you have passed this screen there is no turning back and no way to select DTS audio. Since you have done so much work on the Sony codes I was hoping you might know a work around or a better command that will select the disc and stop at the audio options screen. Also I would be interested in knowing what you are using to control your DVD changers.

Here is the command string
MLServeCmd.MLCX777ES|DiscDirect~<>~1~0~0~DVD<>
MLServeCmd.MLCX777ES|DiscDirect~203~1~0~0 (this is a actual command for disc 203)

I use SuperNudelist and IR control exclusively at the moment. I no longer use CDP-CX400 CD changers, but I do have an 860 and 777ES DVD changer up and running.

I have not yet dived into the Serial Controller (RS-232) format for the 777ES. I do know that the "Hell Freezes Over" disc prompts me for DTS or Dolby Digital when I select the disc using standard IR sequences.

Without documentation on the RS-232 format (Plugin documentation does not supply all information being sent to Sony changer) , I'm hard-pressed to say what is wrong.

What does the guy who wrote the Plug-In for the 777ES say? Can he test and possibly reproduce? Maybe there's something in the RS-232 control that forces a play of the disc.

Contact the vendor and ask... After all, you did pay money for Main Lobby and DVD Lobby.
