I'm updating my CCF and fishing around for some cool layouts. One I like is Tim Voegele-Downing's 9200 (from the Remote Central archive) which looks like MacOS, all brushed steel backgrounds, and metallic buttons.

So I pull it into Tonto and start to dis-assemble it. I'm not an expert here so, forgive me if this sounds a little dumb.

Each panel seems to consist of a single group, including the background. When I ungroup the panel layout, the background dissappears.

Any idea what is going on here?

Also the way in which Tim has built each panel seems to be to have a frame that has the more or less the full layout, and then to have buttons over the top that replicate some or all of what is on the frame underneath. Any idea why this appraoch was taken.

One last thing. CCF also includes multiple panels for a single device, where the panels all seem to be the same. ie DVD, DVD Repeat 1, DVD Repeat ALL. What is happening here.

Many thanks

Hi,
Iam using the same CCF trying to adapt it to my pref.
To answer you first question what I did was (PRONTO EDIT)Clicked on the background Icon ...Save It IN PAint ...And then edit it to your liking by Cutting parts of the frame and pasting over.

Double click on each icon and save that to paint as well and then you can overlay them on the background icon to your liking.

The multiple panels (This is actually really cool!)allow you to select Repeat1 and the icon lights up.What happens is when selected there is a jump to the second panel with the icon in blue And then when you select it again it jumps back to the first page.
TRY loading it in the emulator and use it to see how it works.

Thanks for tip. It has been so long since I used ProntoEdit that I had to re-install it. I've been a Tonto man. Unfortunately, that particular CCF does not look so good on a ProntoPro sized layout, or in my case PDAWin. I might hold off making wholesale changes until NetRemote allows direct IR and full screen handling.

I still don't understand why the background frame disappears when you ungroup though. I can't remember, but does ProntoEdit allow grouping?

Sorry dharu, I must be especially stoopid today.

I don't follow the logic of the Repeat1 functionality at all. Bear in mind that I'm looking at the CCF on an emulator pretending to be a TSU6000, so I'm not even seeing it full screen.

Do you have a way of emulating it full screen, as I assume it was intended. As I said before I'm not a Pronto user, I use PDAwIn. I can't even scroll between panels on what I am looking at.

It took some time before I could get used to it too and Iam still figuring things out.The only way you can see full screen is if you download Touchscreen setup for the RC9200 remotes as it is the only edit software that supports the bigger screen.I havent used Tonto But I hear it is superior to ProntoEdit.Iam surprised you cannot see full screen in Tonto.Maybe if you select the RC9200 option if it has one.

Use Tonto and choose either an RC9200 or Custom Configuration. If using "Custom", set your screen size to 240x320 or 240x270.

Sorry guys, I should ahve been more specific, I can't see it full screen in the emulator in ProntoEdit. I'm seeing the full panels in Tonto, but I havn't figurerd a way to run an emulator from Tonto yet. If you know of a way, I'd be delighted to hear about it.
