I have the latest firmware for the 3000; and merged my old configuration file into a newly created blank. I'm wanting to use the new timer function. I have assigned one of the four hard keys to "tools" but nothing happens. Any suggestions?
[I have searched the Pronto forum for a solution but to no avail].
Any help gratefully appreciated.

LOL No wonder you found no hits. The Legacy Pronto Remotes don't have a 'Tools' option.
If you search the 'Pronto NG' forum you will find the answer.
You have to hold any button referencing 'Tools' for 3-4 seconds to get to 'Tools'.

How strange our use of language!
This is off topic, but I have to crack up, or shake my head, when I see our habit of saying things like "Legacy Pronto remotes." They are just the Pronto remotes, but the new ones force us to rename the old ones.
The classic example of this is the wired telephone. Years ago, when there were no wireless telephones, all we had were telephones. Then we had wireless telephones, and within a few years, the things we had called telephones suddenly had to be called wired telephones...just to be sure we knew.
The same thing happened with TVs. We used to have TVs. Then when color TVs were introduced, suddenly the other ones were not TVs, they were black and white TVs.
I bet that happened with other things. Transmissions --the Model A had a transmission. By the time fluid drive was introduced around WWII, the Model A's transmission had changed from a transmission to a manual transmission. Of course it was the same transmission all along....

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

And the one that is happening right now, which I am impressed that you didn't mentioned it. Is the current tvs being replaced with the HDTV. So with the current tvs, are we going to be calling them "color tvs" Or better yet NTSCtvs?
