Which one will work? I have a belkin one to no avail.

A search of the the forum might provide some help... but make sure that whatever you buy isn't sold specifically for "PDAs", as those tend to not work.

The Keyspan Hugh Speed Serial adapter works the best in my experience. I've used them on Dell and Toshiba Notebooks. P/n is USA-19QW
