I just bought a refurbed Pronto pro. The question is, is the backlight on the entire length of the left side or just the bottoom left side. Just want to make sure I got a good one. It seemed odd to me the light was from the bottom left only.

Thank

Are you sure that it's not the ccf's back ground effecting the shade of the light? I personaly have never heard of this, since the back light isn't a "light" But a whole sheet of light. It should look like a pda's back light.

Try loading a different ccf, like the orginal ccf, to see what it looks like. If you want to keep the one that is on there, upload it to the pc first to save it though.

These have a passive display not active type and are illuminated by a light. On the 6000 it is on the left and pretty easy to see if you look down the left side of the screen.

Hello, I am new to this forum. This in fact is my first email in the chat forum. I am a network administrator and am entering the field of installing Philips pront 7000 remote. I have done some research via the internet on this remote and came up with some not so helpfull information. what I did come across was an article that stated that the manuel that comes with this remote is not very useful? The company I will be installing for is giving me a 7000 remote to work with. I do not know what your experience is with this remote? what is the best way for me to begin. In addition they want me to learn about the MX 600 and 800, Philips.

the ProntoPro TSU-7000 is discussed in the Pronto NG forum. The manual is OK, but does not describe how to do anything except use the SW (i.e. a manual on MS word would not describe how to write an essay, just how to use word)

there is a guide that is written describing how to make a config, http://prontowizard.com/

also creating a config for the pronto is a lot like web development. (placing and creating images, deciding what they do....) more then programming.

as for the 600 and 800, those are HTM remotes and you can find more info on them in the HTM forum. They are both RF remotes, but the 600 is not natively PC programmable, while the 800 is. For the 600 there is a third party product called IRclone that makes the 600 PC programmable

Thank you for responding back so soon. I look forward to corresponding with you as I develop in the utilization of these remotes (Pronto7000&MX600,800).

Thanks, WoodlanderTechnology
